SQUINT Optometry is located in the historic village of Irvington, New York, along the Hudson River just south of the Tappan Zee Bridge. SQUINT was established by Dr. Debra Bernstein, a local resident and graduate of The George Washington University and The New England College of Optometry.
Dr. Bernstein specializes in comprehensive eye exams as well as state-of-the-art contact lens care. Dr. Bernstein examines patients of all ages, including children and adults. She also evaluates and treats patients with a variety of medical conditions, including conjunctivitis, dry eye, diabetes and hypertension, and works closely with area physicians if patients are in need of further treatment. As an affiliate of The Laser Center, she provides pre and post-op care for LASIK surgery. Dr. Bernstein has been practicing in the New York area since 1993 and is a long-standing member of the American Optometric Society as well as the New York Optometric Association.
Dr. Bernstein grew up in Dix Hills on Long Island, her mother is an artist and her father, brother and sister-in-law are all Optometrists. She loves being creative and feels that having her own practice allows her to express her creative side with her choices of frames and accessories.
Dr. Bernstein lives in Irvington with her husband, three children and two dogs and loves being part of the local community. In their free time, the family enjoys skiing together and a few of them can be found regularly working out at Crossfit.
